I have been moving money to Canada and urging readers to do the same. My banker, James Curran of BMO encouraged me to provide his name and contact info.

Now a reader has done the same with his banker. Here is an email from the banker to the reader [with my comments]:

That was a great read. [I do not know what he is referring to—maybe one of my articles about investing in Canada forwarded to him by my reader. The reader sent this: Mrs. Singh was referring to the several of your web articles I sent as part of my original email. The and referring to Bank of Montreal, so she would have an idea of how you would use her contact info.] It's very interesting. Sure you can go ahead and give my name, CIBC's name and reference. It's completely fine as long as CIBC's logo is not being used anywhere.

It was a pleasure meeting you and Carol, and I look forward to assisting you with any other needs.

I note that although this two different banks—Bank of Montreal and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce—both are in British Columbia, the southwesternmost Canadian province (biggest city, Vancouver; capital city, Victoria). But both banks are nationwide in Canada, so I expect you could ask these bankers to refer you to one of their branches closer to you if you are not in the Northwest.

Go on oot there, eh.
